The third part of this symphony (titled Action, with an extroverted hint) is centered on the psychological function of Sensation. Today Sensation, especially in European and North American society, is the most appreciated psychological function: most parts of people think that only Sensation is real and also some psychological therapeutic techniques born in the last 40 years are based on data from Sensation, that can be catalogued and statistically treated. For this reason, and for symbolic coherence with number three associated with the third movement, this part of the symphony relates to the problem of personal identity and consciousness. In musical terms, this theme generated a piece completely written in notes, with standard notation, and constructed as a concerto, freely interpreted as development and recapitulation of a single theme.
