The second part of this symphony is centered on the psychological function of Thinking, and as a consequence deals with the power of the word. The word is the rational power of men, but is also an evocative mean that leads to the creation of mythology.
This movement, called Davar, from the Hebrew term for “word”, begins with a crumbling of the word that, through its own destruction, find a new life in its rhythmical and musical origin: the real strength of the word is not in the power of defining things and reality but in the living dance of consciousness.
The word is the beginning of duality, the beginning of history and consequently the beginning of time as we know it. This is why Davar is the second movement, fulfilling the symbolism of number two.

Luce m'abbaglia!
...di lampadina.

Tremule vaganti nel circolo d'immensa ruota dell'Orsa esile soffio vacillano di luce
ma son d'esplosioni, forze nucleari, enormi fusioni, guerre elementari d'energia!

Altre lotte, altri amori là volteggiano
sfere musicali, combinazioni d'infinita varietà
nostri lontanissimi fratelli.

Quanti me stesso?
Tanto grande è la Galassia
e misero frammento del Tutto scorgo nell'oculare di vetro
sforzo del telescopio;
polveri e nebulose ci annebbiano le lontananze.

Tanto grande è l'Universo.
Non le stelle, non le stelle ma
la ragione vacilla.

Rebus che non quadra,
Disfaccio, rifaccio, ricomincio, ritento.
Dal centro occhio scaltro e scherzoso sghignazza scherno e lazzi
il frammento mancante.
Quel non so che o quasi nulla ride
sulle mie torri di Babele.

Da Galileo alla lavatrice
santa rivoluzione copernicana delle massaie
manca un tassello.

Ruota mistica?
Infinita necessaria onda?
Fantasia di frattali?

Come non gioire di voli d'aeroplani, orologi digitali,
geni inventori della ruota e di tutte le conseguenze sue
della cucina, Prometeo, dolci,
dell'amabile cioccolato?

Ma non ricordo ancora la parola mancante
Davar luce abbagliante che illuminando oscura,
questione altrimenti nota
come Principio
(di indeterminazione).

Pur se l'erotismo ha vestito l'animale,
ancora sussurra l'Alchimista d'Alessandria:
Uno, due, tre - e quattro,
due con due corrisponde ma il quarto
non compare oltre l'arbusto.

(Irriducibile cerchio al quadrato, uomo di Vitruvio!)
Incompiuta roulette, calcolo necessità d'azzardo:
e sotterraneo tamburo mi fa inciampare.
